God Remembers

We serve a God who forgets, a God who doesn't keep a record of the mistakes we commit. Once we come to Him in humility and with the sincerity of the heart seek forgiveness, He forgives and forgets.

I don't know about you friend, but everyone I have met in this walk of life has had moments when they (me included) felt like throwing hands in the air, give up and walk away.

Child of God, but there are times when I felt like I had been forgotten. Times I felt like every effort I have made, every act of kindness I showed to someone, every small ounce of mercy I extended toward someone was all in vain.

Joseph in the bible must have felt this way. Times I picture him seated on the floor at a corner in his prison cell in the cold of the night wondering to himself; was it worth it God? What was the point of not yielding to Potiphar’s wife advances if it would only mean I find myself in jail? What was the point of being faithful to you only to be thrown in this dungeon? I mean didn't you hear me say I cannot sin against you? This is how I'm rewarded for my good acts?

Listen, we have God in heaven, the God who remembers your efforts to live for Him, the God who remembers the prayers you made in the dead of the night when you were alone with no one to share with whatever you were going through, God who remembers the offerings you gave for the sake of the kingdom, the sacrifices you made in secret, the lives you touched when no one was watching,

The bible is full of “and God remembered” verses because truly God remembers. Like Joseph, God sees everything you go through, even when it seems like God is a million miles away, it is that heavenly whisper that says stay on track son, it is just for a little while and it will be over.

Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stall, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Saviour (Habakkuk 3:17-18).

See, the reason why at times we have to go through some moments in life is because God is not preparing the blessing for you, the blessing is assured. He is preparing you for the blessing.

You are not forgotten. God Remembers.
